Initial Consultation $95
All new patients begin with this initial
consultation, which includes a thorough history, discussion about your
health issues and problems, and your wellness goals. The fee includes a
brief follow-up visit, when necessary, to discuss Dr. Spore’s
recommendations and your options to consider on your Stepping Stones to
Health journey.
Adrenal Stress Index $190
This is a salivary (spit) test in which the patient collects
four samples throughout the course of the day, which are then evaluated
for cortisol rhythm, DHEA, secretory IgA and antigliadin antibodies.
Adrenal Stress Urine Test $25
This is a specialized urine test that measures the amount of
chloride displaced into your urine. Excess chloride in the urine is a
reliable measurement of adrenal stress or adrenal fatigue. Adrenal
stress is now a major health challenge of the American population.
AMAS Cancer Screening Test $250
This test accurately indicates if there is cancer active
anywhere in your body. It measures the level of anti-malignin antibody
in blood serum. This antibody is produced by our immune systems to deal
with any cells that have undergone a transformation from normal to
malignant. There are very small amounts of the antibody in a healthy
body, but when the level of anti-malignin antibodies is elevated, it is
an indication of an elevated level of malignant cells in the person
tested. Thus it can be used as a screening tool for early detection and
as a monitoring tool to measure the effectiveness of a treatment
protocol.
Amino Acid Profile $350
Amino Acids are essential to life and they comprise the
building blocks of the proteins found in structural tissues in the body.
Various functions in the body are dependent on how well the body is able
to metabolize (break down and use) amino acids. A variety of conditions
including chronic fatigue, frequent headaches, chronic gastrointestinal
distress, intolerance to foods and chemicals, persistent inflammatory
responses, depression, learning disabilities, malnutrition, neurological
disorders or symptoms of degenerative disease can occur because of
inadequate amino acid metabolism.
Bio-Impedance Analysis (BIA) $45 for the first BIA; $24 for
successive visits.
This computerized instrument is the most accurate way to
determine your body fat percentage and lean muscle percentage, and the
amounts of water inside and outside of your cells. This is crucial
information for determining the proper diet for you. Furthermore, the
actual cell vitality can be measured through the assessment of the
intracellular and extracellular fluid ratios. Dr. Spore can also
evaluate your cardiac disease risk and easily determine if your health
program is producing greater cell vitality. Only the BIA has this
capability.
Blood Chemistry Panel $235
This very thorough blood test includes: a complete blood
chemistry screening (Chem 25), a cholesterol panel (LDL/HDL), a complete
blood count (CBC), a thyroid panel (T3, T4, T7, TSH), and a standard
urine panel. This screens you for metabolic dysfunction, organic
pathology, and also nutritional imbalances. This is an essential part of
your evaluation. A separate sheet is available that lists all the tests
that are done and their purpose.
Note: Blood Type test is included with this full blood
chemistry screen.
Blood Type + Rh Test $30
Most people simply do not know their blood type and most
doctors do not routinely test for it. This is an extremely important
test for developing the diet that is genetically ideal for you.
Calcium Urine Test $25
Calcium is an essential mineral for many cellular functions, as
well as for healthy bone development. With this urine test Dr. Spore can
accurately determine whether your calcium level is adequate, low, or
even too high.
Cardiovascular Assessment, Comprehensive $190
Cardiovascular risk factors are tested through blood serum.
This test looks at all the factors that contribute to increased risk for
heart disease. This includes total cholesterol, LDL, HDL, triglycerides,
homocysteine (an amino acid that if present in high levels increases
cardiovascular risk), lipoprotein-a (if present in large amounts,
increases risk for coronary artery disease), C-reactive protein (high
levels increase risk for strokes and heart attacks) fibrinogen (if
elevated the risk to cardiovascular disease is increased), and fasting
glucose.
Cardiovascular Profile 2.0, Comprehensive $295
The Comprehensive Cardiovascular Profile 2.0 incorporates the
latest breakthroughs in cardiovascular disease research to provide
advanced, early warning of CVD risk. This thorough evaluation includes
total cholesterol, LDL, and fasting glucose, and also features an
advanced lipid profile with fractionation, independent risk markers
(including homocysteine and hs-C-reactive protein), relative risk
indices, and Metabolic Syndrome alerts. All of these advanced markers
play a critical role in the biochemical environment underlying
cardiovascular health. The insight they provide allows the doctor to
accurately address abnormalities relating to heart and vascular
diseases. Using this state-of-the-art assessment, practitioners can
increase detection of at-risk patients by almost 30%, compared with
conventional cholesterol tests. This is important because about half of
all heart attacks strike individuals with "normal" total cholesterol
levels.
Chemstrip Urine Test $25
This is a quick, in-house urine test that measures 13 separate
urine categories. Dr. Spore uses this test to screen you for serious
health problems including infections, tissue degeneration, liver
disease, kidney disease, and diabetes.
Chiropractic Adjustments
Fee varies with number of areas adjusted. Discount prepayment
plans available.
Chiropractic is based on the scientific fact that the nervous
system controls the function of every cell, tissue, organ and system of
your body. While the brain is protected by the skull, the spinal cord is
more vulnerable, covered by 24 moving vertebrae. When these bones lose
their normal motion or position they can irritate the nervous system.
This disrupts the function of the tissues or organs these nerves
control, and is called the Vertebral Subluxation Complex. Chiropractic
is the science of locating these areas of spinal malfunction, the art of
correcting them, and the philosophy of things natural. Dr. Spore is
trained in the Thompson Terminal Point method of chiropractic adjusting
and has over 15 years of experience as a Chiropractic Physician.
Cholesterol, Triglyceride, LDL, HDL (Lipid Panel) $25
Measures total cholesterol, HDL and LDL (calculated)
cholesterol, and triglycerides in whole blood. Cholesterol is a fat that
is essential to the proper function of every cell in the body. It is
made up of HDL (High density lipoprotein) and LDL (low density
lipoprotein). HDL is useful with total cholesterol in forecasting
protection against heart disease. LDL is a predictor for those who may
be at risk for developing heart disease. Cholesterol is transported
through the bloodstream by protein and is one of the critical building
blocks of many hormones as well as bile acids. The body should make all
the cholesterol it needs. Therefore, extra cholesterol ingested from
dairy products and animal fats can adversely raise the cholesterol
level. The cholesterol/HDL ratio has been demonstrated to be a
measurement of a person’s risk for heart disease. Levels above 4.9 for
men and 4.4 for women are associated with a higher than average risk of
developing heart disease. Triglycerides are the fats derived from
carbohydrates and fatty acids. They represent the major storage form of
fat in the body and are used for energy.
Depletion Pack $52
Vaginal depletion packs have been in use since the 1800s.
Vaginal depletion packs work by improving the circulation of the pelvic
organs by suspending the uterus high in the pelvis and by the action of
the substances within the packs, which draw fluid and infection out of
the uterus. These therapeutic effects make vaginal depletion packs
effective in the treatment of such conditions as cervical erosions,
acute and chronic cervicitis, abnormal Papanicolaou smears,
endometriosis, uterine leiomyomas, pelvic inflammatory disease and
conditions of pelvic congestion. Vaginal depletion packs inhibit local
bacterial growth, stimulate the body to slough off abnormal cervical
cells, and promote lymphatic drainage.
Depression Panel (NeuroMood) $315
This urine test evaluates by products of specific
neurotransmitters in the brain that affect mood, sleep, appetite and
energy. Specifically; epinephrine, norepinephrine, tyramine, dopamine,
DOPAC, serotonin, 5-HIAA, tryptamine, GABA and glutamate.
Digestive Function Analysis $181
The digestive function analysis is a one-time stool sample. The
results help Dr. Spore know if there are digestive issues related to
intestinal health that might be contributing to gas and bloating that
some people experience.
Digestive Stool Analysis, Comprehensive $368; $482 with
parisitology
The comprehensive digestive stool analysis test gives some
insight as to how well you are digesting foods, how well you are
absorbing foods, and what level of candida is present in the intestine.
It will also provide information as to effective treatment
recommendations. As mentioned previously, digestive problems can cause,
among other things, diarrhea, heartburn, gas, fatigue and difficult
digestion. If parasites are a concern the same sample can be analyzed
for their presence.
Energy Balance and Detox
$30;
We also offer a prepaid package of 12 treatments for $300.
Designed and developed to restore the body’s energy and balance
while facilitating and aiding in its natural detoxification process. The
patient places their feet into a water bath into which a gentle direct
current is introduced which generates the ionic field and thereby
transfers the energy into the body. This process pulls toxins from the
patient’s body and balances and restores the body’s pH to a more
alkaline state.
Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate (ESR) $12
This is a simple blood test that can detect the presence of
inflammation or infection.
Essential Fatty Acid Analysis $275
The essential fatty acid analysis is done using blood serum.
This test will let us know if you are getting the “good” fats that you
need in your diet. These fats are called “essential” because our body
doesn’t manufacture them; they have to come from our diet, which means
you need to have a functioning digestive system. This test covers over
60 different components of essential fatty acids. The brain is 60% fat
so lack of essential fatty acids can cause concentration problems,
irritability, short-term memory loss and aggressive behavior, among
other things.
Female Hormone Profile Saliva Test $250 (for 2-sample) or
$300 (for 11-sample)
The female hormone profile is an 11-sample (if still cycling)
or 2-sample (if post-menopausal) salivary (spit) test that evaluates the
levels of hormones. It tests DHEA, testosterone, progesterone, estriol,
estrone and estradiol (the three components of estrogen). Hormone
imbalances can cause and/or contribute to migraine headaches as well as
a wide spectrum of related problems.
Food Sensitivity Test (Alletess Labs) $325
This food sensitivity test is a blood test that covers 96 foods
for IgG (delayed) reactions plus 12 of the most commonly reactive foods
for IgE (immediate) reactions. Most people may have a pretty good idea
what their IgE food sensitivities are, but delayed food reaction
symptoms can appear up to three days after the food is eaten. You may
feel ill and have no idea that your symptoms are allergy related;
symptoms such as stomach pain, muscle aches, joint pain, chronic sinus
infections and fatigue as well as digestive issues you may have
experienced such as diarrhea and urgency.
Also Available:
Gastrointestinal Panel (Basic IgG panel above plus and
Intestinal Panel), $375
Inhalants Panel (12 airborne allergens), $170
Spice Panel (10 spices, IgE and IgG reactions), $170
Food Sensitivity Testing with Applied Kinesiology $105; Varies
with individual.
Recent research indicates that applied kinesiology (muscle
testing) can be an effective and inexpensive way to detect hidden food
allergies. Goods that cause an allergic reaction usually also affect
neuromuscular function, resulting in patterns of reversible muscle
weakness. In a pilot study in 1998 involving 17 subjects, it was
determined that there was a 90.5% accuracy in suspected food allergies
indicated by muscle testing.
Glucose (Blood Sugar) Testing $10
Glucose is a measure of the amount of sugar in the bloodstream
and it is the primary energy source in the body. This test is used to
help detect diabetes, hypoglycemia and other glucose metabolizing
disorders.
Glucose Tolerance Test $250
The five-hour glucose tolerance test will help Dr. Spore see
how you are handling sugar over a period of time. This is important for
people who have symptoms that may be associated with hypoglycemia or
diabetes.
Glutathione Test $100
Glutathione is found in every cell of the body. It is
particularly concentrated in the liver (detoxifier) and spleen (immune
defense system) but the highest amount is found in the skin (the largest
organ of the body). It has multiple function including transportation of
proteins, detoxifying the body of heavy metals, pesticides, food
preservatives and environmental pollutants, activating the immune
(defense) systems to attack invaders and protect from free radical
(rusting) generation and regenerating a wide variety of other
antioxidants. The consequences of decreased glutathione range of
alcoholism to heavy metal poisoning to Autism and/or ADHD to eczema,
auto immune diseases and various forms of cancer.
Hair Mineral Analysis $100
This test analyzes a sample of the patient’s hair. It allows
Dr. Spore to discover any long-term heavy metal toxicity such as
aluminum, mercury or lead. Heavy metal toxicities may contribute to
digestive problems as well as diarrhea, constipation, fatigue, and joint
and muscle pain. It also looks at trace minerals and how well the body
is absorbing and utilizing them.
Hemoglobin A1c Test $25
In normal and diabetic persons distinctive values of
glycohemoglobin (an irreversible glucose-protein bond) reflects the
balance between hemoglobin A1c in new and old red blood cells. Cell age
and high blood glucose are significant determinants in glycohemoglobin.
This test is used to assess long-term glucose control in diabetes.
Inhalant Allergy Testing $180
The region-specific Inhalant Allergy profile by US BioTek
Laboratories is a blood test that identifies IgE reactions to 48
allergens patients encounter where they live, work and play. Included
are grass and weed pollens, fungi, trees & shrubs and cat hair, dog hair
& dander, dust mite mix and house dust. This panel can be done
independently or added to the basic food panel (see Food Sensitivity
Test).
Insomnia Panel (NeuroSleep) $315
This urine test evaluates by products of specific
neurotransmitters in the brain and two hormones that affect sleep,
mood, energy and appetite. Specifically; melatonin, cortisol,
epinephrine, norepinephrine, dopamine, serotonin, GABA, PEA, histamine
and glutamate.
Intestinal Permeability $85
Any irritation to the gut lining can contribute to increased
permeability. Irritation results from inflammation, imbalances of
intestinal organisms, food allergies, maldigestion and exposure to
non-steroidal anti-inflammatories, alcohol and things that contribute to
free radical damage. This test can pinpoint the underlying irritations.
Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT)
$30; We also offer a prepaid package of 12 treatments for $300.
A treatment that safely and effectively reduces inflammation,
relieves pain, heals tissues and even aids in repairing some scar
tissue, low level lasers do not cut or destroy tissue but biostimulate
the tissue, creating a therapeutic curative effect. Therapeutic lasers
work by supplying energy to the body in the form of non-thermal photons
of light. The body is able to absorb this external energy on a cellular
level and transform light energy into chemical energy, which the body
uses to accelerate the normal healing rate of tissue for a wide range of
ailments.
Malabsorption Urine Test $25
This urine test allows Dr. Spore to screen you for the presence
of harmful anaerobic bacteria and bowel dysbiosis. Dysbiosis is a toxic
condition caused by a decline in the population of beneficial digestive
bacteria. This can lead to malabsorption, digestive disturbances,
allergies, and inflammatory symptoms.
Male Hormone Panel $225
Besides driving physiological changes associated with male
puberty, the male sex hormone testosterone exerts a powerful,
far-ranging influence over emotional well-being sexual function, muscle
mass and strength, energy, cardiovascular health, bone integrity, and
cognitive ability throughout a man’s entire life. Yet because men often
experience a gradual loss of testosterone as they age and because
clinical symptoms can be subtle and occur slowly over a period of time,
chronic imbalance of hormones goes undetected and untreated in men who
may to mistakenly view a steady decline in their health as “inevitable”
or “normal”.
NeuroAdrenal Profile, Expanded $395
This is a urine test that evaluates by-products of specific
neurotransmitters in the brain and salivary measurements 5 hormones
levels that can contribute to depression, ADD/ADHD, headaches, migraine
headaches, compulsions/addictions and autism, fatigue, anxiety/panic,
weight issues and chronic illness. It specifically measures epinephrine,
norepinephrine, dopamine, DOPAC, serotonin, 5-HIAA, glycine, taurine,
GABA, glutamate, PEA, histamine and the hormone DHEA and four samples of
the hormone known as cortisol.
NeuroScreen Profile $315
This is a urine test that evaluates by-products of specific
neurotransmitters in the brain that can contribute to depression,
ADD/ADHD, headaches, migraine headaches, compulsions/addictions and
autism. It specifically measures epinephrine, norepinephrine, dopamine,
DOPAC, serotonin, 5-HIAA, glycine, taurine, GABA, glutamate, PEA and
histamine.
Organic Acid Test + Culture & Sensitivity $285
The Urine Organic Acid Test (OAT) plus Culture and Sensitivity
reveals microbial overgrowth (dysbiosis) from Candida, Clostridia, and
other species of bacteria and fungus in the gastrointestinal (GI) tract.
This test provides a metabolic snapshot of byproducts the individual’s
body has discarded as urine waste at that moment. Information about
functional B vitamin levels, antioxidant status, neurotransmitter status
and fatty acid metabolism are also obtained from this test. The OAT also
measures oxalate levels—a new area of interest—which can correlate with
yeast byproducts and then can be lowered by diet or by supplementation.
Stool testing, both a simple culture and microscopic examination of
stool for yeast, allows testing for the sensitivity of the yeast to
several drugs and natural agents.
Oxidata Urine Test $35
The Oxidata Urine Test is 50 times more accurate than blood
serum free radical tests. Free radical damage can lead to cell
degeneration, initiating a host of diseases such as: fatigue, allergies,
arthritis, elevated cholesterol, and degenerative heart disease.
Pelvic Exam $95, or $135 including PAP smear.
PSA/PAP (Males) $175
Prostate Specific Antigen and Prostatic Acid Phosphatase as a
screen for prostate disease.
Saliva pH Test $10
The Saliva pH Test helps Dr. Spore to detect deep levels of
physical and mental stress. When highly stressed, the body becomes
acidic, which in turn displaces valuable alkaline minerals. Thus, this
is an excellent screening for mineral deficiency.
Spice and Herb Allergy Testing $170
This blood test 10 spices and herbs for IgG (delayed) and IgE
(immediate) allergy responses. It can be done independently or as an
add-on to the basic Food Sensitivity test (Food Sensitivity Test).
Toxic Metals Urine Test $120
Urine is collected for 6 hours following the administration of
an oral chelating agent to determine a persons potential for heavy metal
toxicity.
Vitamin C Urine Test $25
Vitamin C is crucial to the health of the immune system,
vascular and connective tissue, and is a powerful anti-oxidant. Recent
research has also placed vitamin C in the category of an anti-cancer
nutrient. This urine test will accurately determine your vitamin C
status.
Yeast Culture with Sensitivities $80
The stool culture for candida (yeast) is a one-time sample and
it will give us information as to whether or not there is an overgrowth
of candida in the intestine. Candida can cause problems with
concentration and constipation, among other things. If there is candida
present in the stool the patient would be treated for 2-4 weeks and a
follow up test would be done to make sure the problem has been resolved.
Zinc Taste Test $5
The most deficient mineral in the American diet is, without
doubt, zinc. Zinc is an essential cofactor of the immune system and
sexual system. Over 90% of patients show signs of zinc insufficiency.
This simple test will instantly determine your zinc status.
Note: This test is included in the Complete Examination.
Please note: that the quoted fees for lab tests are for the lab
fees only. They do not include interpretation and recommendations by Dr.
Spore. Fees are subject to change without notice.
A 2% Minnesota Care Tax is added to all tests and
services.
